This is the famous guano known throughout history as the exclusive fertilizer of the Inca civilization and produced by sea birds that thrive on fish in an extreme environment.

Rates:

Pellets can be used once for the entire growing season. Use one to two teaspoons per vegetable transplant or 8 inch diameter container. For established plants use one tablespoon scratched into soil a few inches away from stem and then watered in.

For acreage use 4 to 700 lbs per acre or as needed prescribed by a soil test from your area lab.

Average Liquid Application Rates:

For liquid plant food - mix one teaspoon per gallon of water(about 1.5 ounces per gallon - about 1 pound per 100 gallons in a sprayer tank), use as needed for growth. You'll want to put the pellets into a cloth bag or cheese cloth for soaking in the tank to prevent the particles from clogging you sprayer nozzles. Mix with soluble humates for even better results.

Why is Guano so Good?

  • Bat Guano has a high percentage of natural living microbic flora. There is a predominance of beneficial fungus, actinomycetes and bacteria in it.
  • Bat Guano is a nematocide. It destroys the primary stage of the nematodes and thus eliminates them. Eliminating nematodes is equal to protecting the plant's radicular system, which improve nutrition and production.
  • Bat Guano is a fungicide and competes with disease causing microbes.
  • Bat Guano contain a high percentage (40% and more) of organic matter.
  • High content of cationic exchange, increasing the plant's feeding possibility.
  • Guano has a wide range of chelates (natural organic-mineral compounds with a high molecular weight), which give bat guano great structural stability and produces a high residual effect in the soil and substrate where it is applied.
  • Bat guano's composition varies according to the animals' feeding habits and the type and form of caves and habitat where they live, among other factors.

Following is a characterization (humid base) of BAT GUANO:

  • Nitrogen (N2) 2 - 6 + %
  • Phosphorus (P2O5) 1.5 - 10 + %
  • Potassium (K2O) 1.0 - 3,0 + %
  • Magnesium (MgO) 1.5 - 8 + %
  • Calcium (CaO) 3.5 - 9 + %
  • Iron (Fe2O3) 0.5 - 1.3 + %
  • Manganese (MnO) 0.4 - 0.8 + %
  • Copper (CuO) 0.2 - 0.5 + %
  • Zinc (ZnO) 0.2 - 0.4 + %
  • pH (water) 4.0 - 5.6
  • Organic Matter 40 - 60%
  • C/N Relation 5/1 - 8/1
  • Fulvic Acids 15 - 20%
  • Microbiological Flora 30 - 45
  • X 10E7 + U.F.C.
  • Humidity 30% +/- 5%

Need advice on which one to pick?

  • Nutrients in guano are as different as there are a variety of producers, food sources and environmental constraints.
  • Sea birds eat strictly small fish and are not scavengers.
  • Bat guano is available from one species that thrives on fruit, while another feasts on insects.
  • Guano can be fresh, semi-fossilized or fossilized and will be a factor, among others, on the nutrient content when used.
  • Some people use the word "Bat Guana" instead of "Bat Guano" when referring to this fertilizer.
  • Our Guano is provided in a ready to use condition, thoroughly aged to the vintage state of a good "Natural Fertilizer".
  • Guano can be used inside or outdoors for all living plants.
  • Guano supplies fast and slow release nutrients to the biological system.
  • Apply the pure guano in smaller amounts than ordinary barnyard or poultry manure. Applied as a top dressing and worked into the soil or mixed with water and applied, guano will have a dramatic influence.
  • Hydroponic growers, in contrast to normal fertilization, are finding that guano and water (see picture at top of page) are a natural alternative to chemical solutions. Use nitrogen guano for growth, phosphorus guano for budding and all guano for your plants general health and well being.
  • Guano can be blended with topsoil before laying sod or grass seed and while planting trees and shrubs.
  • Add guano to your container growing mix for a supercharged potting soil.
